ETF Portfolio Performance Year-to-Date
Flagship ETF Portfolio

Whereas the two portfolios below either go all-in (“Dumb Money”) or wait on the sidelines (End-of-the-World), my Flagship ETF Portfolio is my largest and waits to buy for key support and only trims certain cyclical positions (think gold, bonds, commodities, etc.). The majority of the positions are buy-and-hold. Since this portfolio is also a Roth IRA, that means it’s regularly receiving contributions on a monthly basis. Of course, I subtract these contributions from its YTD performance.
Weekly ETF Update:
Thanks to its exposure to Bitcoin and growth stock, the Flagship Portfolio pulled back more than the S&P 500 this week, a bit over -1%, however that wasn’t remotely enough for the S&P gain much grown on this portfolio’s outperformance, still turning in a Year-To-Date (YTD) gain of +7.58% to the S&P’s +1.69%.
The top 5 holdings remained in the same places week-over-week, representing how gold and international stocks have been providing dramatic outperformance this year.

Dumb Money i401(k) Portfolio
To learn more, check out my full rundown of this portfolio by clicking here.
My Dumb Money i401(k) buys every Friday regardless of whether the market is up or down, splitting the weekly investment among five different ETFs: energy, utilities, tech, growth, and the total stock market. The goal is to only have enough cash for the month’s purchases. As a result, this portfolio’s cash position is always tiny if not nonexistent entirely.
Weekly ETF Update:
The Dumb Money i401(k) Portfolio’s exposure to tech and growth meant it pulled back more than the S&P 500 this week but it’s outperformance is still 2X the S&P with a +3.85% YTD gain versus the index’s +1.69% gain.
The portfolio’s five position remain in the same places week-over-week with utilities (FUTY) still outperforming the other sectors this year.
S&P 500 YTD: +1.69%
Dumb Money Portfolio: +3.85%
Cash Position: 0.47%
YTD Performance of its 5 Holdings
Fidelity Utilities ETF (FUTY): +5.52%

End-Of-The-World Portfolio
To learn more, check out my full rundown of this portfolio by clicking here.
The goal of the End of the World portfolio is to have cash on hand in the event we see a Black Swan Event, so underperformance is more or less par for the course, typically. However, when we do see downturns, this portfolio starts putting money to work during dramatic stock market crashes.
Weekly ETF Update:
The End-of-the-World Portfolio continues to outperform as designed, only pulling back -0.12% week-over-week versus the S&P 500’s -0.16% dip. As a result, the YTD performance remains stellar here with the portfolio still at +8.85% not even halfway through the year compared to the S&P at just +1.69%.
Dakota Gold (DC) still hung onto 1st place week-over-week, but serious buying senior goldminer, Newmont Mining (NEM) sent the stock from not even in the top 5 all the way to #2, bumping the Sprott Physical Gold Trust (PHYS) entirely out of the top 5.
Since Newmont jumped so high, the other three position-holders all dropped a spot but still remained in the same places relative to each other as they were last week.
S&P 500 YTD: +1.69%
End-of-the-World Portfolio: +8.85%
Cash Position: 48.70% (51.30% invested)
Top 5 Performing Single Holdings YTD
Dakota Gold (DC): +65.80%
Newmont Mining (NEM): +51.79%
